We have limited spaces available but we can guarantee that once you have reserved a mat, the space is yours for keeps and you never have to fill in a form again.

Expect the expected
We offer the same class throughout the week. (with a few variations) Every week a new class.
If you want to commit to your mat twice a week or more, this is your golden opportunity to learn, to explore and to develop further into your practice physically, mentally and spiritually.
Classes will combine Yin & Yang. Sometimes flowing actively, sometimes being still, moving slowly and listening to your body.
Expect Hatha, Vinasa and a healthy dose of spirituality, be it through Mudra's (hand gestures), Mantra's (spoken word) or Crystals & Sound.
There will often be an element of breathwork.
You will soon become aware of what our classes are all about and though we like to add elements of surprise and attune our classes to our client's needs, you will soon become part of The Mat Sanctuary and feel at home and at ease so you can focus 100% on being you, your needs and some rare time to yourself.
Welcome to YOUR Mat Sanctuary
Tuesday AM we focus on moving slow, making the class suitable for beginners+ (Meaning; it is good if you know your downward dog from your warrior 2)
We look at healing the body, becoming more flexible, stretching, increasing strength and balance. In your own time and within your own capabilities.
Mind Body Soul Yoga
Yoga & wellbeing to support women through life.
This class is designed specifically for women. To look after our bodies, mind and soul. Overall well being & feeling great.
Suitable too for women who are either peri-menopausal, in the menopause or beyond it. As we look at how to stay well throughout it and at the other end.
We use the hour to stretch and work on flexibility through slow movements and stillness in a pose. We work on fascia release, bone strength, balance and a strong core. All the things you need for a healthy body and to keep feeling young.
Think also: improved sleep & less anxiety.
A special adapted yoga practice including breathwork and mindful meditation.
Fluid Flow Advanced
Thursday mornings is for those who know what they are doing or have already done the class earlier in the week. We move a little faster and we expect you to know your warriors and vinasa.

Restfull Yin (with Tuuli)
Restul Yin yoga classes offer stillness and a safe space to relax, process and enjoy the present moment. Yin yoga is an effective way to increase softness and flexibility as the poses are held from 2-6 minutes to target the connective tissues and fascia. These classes combine yin with healing restorative yoga using bolsters, blocks, and blankets to fully support the body, aiming to activate its natural relaxation response, reducing excess stress and tension. Come and unwind from the day and reconnect with your feeling body.
Balancing Vinyasa Flow (with Tuuli)
Balancing Vinyasa Flow is a joyful breathing moving meditation. In this class you can practice a unique gentle and accessible rocket series designed to balance the nervous system, quiet the thinking mind and energize the body, mind and soul. This is an active beginner friendly class offering modifications to honour each body and practice. Come as you are, be ready to breathe, move and have a laugh.
Mindfulness / Sleep Hub
When you are in need of some quiet in your day and a different kind of lunch break. Leave eating at your desk for a day and make some time for yourself. Mindfulness is being fully present and aware of where we are, how we feel and this class offers conscious rest and complete relaxation on all levels of your being. Designed to calm and soothe the nervous system. Untangle stress from the body and reduce anxiety as well as boost your cognitive function, focus and mental clarity. A natural cortisol booster. This class is also helping all people who struggle to sleep at night.

Breathe as a vehicle for healing your mental & physical wellbeing.
In these sessions we learn how to control the breath consciously to influence our mental, emotional and physical state with a therapeutic effect and most importantly how to integrate this into daily life. All breathing techniques are personalised for your needs.
Breathwork can help with: emotional release, sleep, heart opening, anxiety, performance, resilience, trauma and chronic pain to name but a few.
I won't bore you with all the science here but it is mesmerising how something we do all our lives, all day can dramatically change our well being when we do it well.
1:1 30 mins £35 1hr £70

Private yoga is transformational yoga: Giving you the tools to make a difference in every day life through in-depth focus on asanas, the chakras, mantras and breathing and meditation techniques giving you the knowledge you need to purify your body, stabilise your emotions, focus your mind and increase your spiritual well being.
Offering a complete approach to well being.
1:1 1hr £75 - 2:1 £90
The Studio is available to other yoga teachers and therapists (physio, reflexology, massage, counceling, sound healing etc).
You can hire the studio any time from one hour upto a few days for retreats. We have a large kitchen and dining room availbale upon request. There is a toilet and a small changing area.
The studio has a private entrance and free parking on the road.

Here at The Mat Sanctuary we like the slow life.
We would not want you to ever stress about having a mat in your favourite class.
Especially as every class is designed to make you progress and grow. To feel and to heal.
For this reason, and because we offer personal classes, not mass events, we ask you to reserve a slot.
You sign up for a weekly class for a half or full term.
After this, the mat is yours.
We ask you to stick to your booked slot. On the rare occasions you can't make it one week, you can do your class a different day or send a friend.
During school holidays we leave it to you wether you like to come or not but you won't loose anything if you can't make it. We understand how demanding life can be. Just give us a little notice.
Last but not least: The Studio is a no shoe zone + mobile phones ideally don't come in but we understand if you need to keep one near for emergencies. We just ask you to turn off sounds and vibrations
We take pride in providing a clean studio, clean mats and clean props.
We never ask you to clean anything and will do this all for you. Every time.
Mats don't just get rolled up and put away for the next session here.
We feel that for you to heal and relax we need to provide a clean environment.
We only use earth & skin friendly products.
If you have a cold or are a little under the weather you are welcome to join, just use the hand sanitiser on offer before you use the mat.
